State Competitions and EVENTS

Not every great learning experience fits neatly into a national contest structure.

Wyoming FFA offers additional competitive learning events that give students more chances to test their knowledge, work as a team, and apply what they’re learning in the classroom.

These events are designed to be engaging, practical, and accessible. They build on agricultural education curriculum and create opportunities for students who enjoy competition, problem-solving, and learning by doing. Whether it’s quick thinking, subject-matter knowledge, or collaboration under pressure, these events reward preparation and participation in a low-barrier, high-impact way.

While these events are not official FFA Leadership or Career Development Events and do not have a national-level equivalent, they play an important role in expanding student involvement and strengthening learning at the state level. They complement Wyoming FFA’s LDEs and CDEs by offering additional ways for members to get involved, try something new, and grow their confidence.

For many students, these events are a starting point—an entry into competition that builds skills, curiosity, and momentum for future FFA involvement.

“FFA DiDn’t Mean much to me until 8th grade when i discovered the agriscience fair. Before that, I was involved mostly for tradition and to skip school. but once I saw the opportunities ffa offered, everything changed. What started as an activity turned into a passion.”
